Villa Maria Board signs management agreement with Via Christi Villages
The board of directors of Villa Maria and Maria Court, senior communities in Mulvane sponsored by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, has engaged Via Christi Senior Services to administer and manage their daily operations and services, Gary Abel, board chairman, announced today. The contract goes into effect Feb. 15. No personnel changes are expected at this time.
“It is difficult for a small, stand-alone facility like Villa Maria, Inc., to have within itself the kinds of resources needed to meet the evermore complex realities of the residential care industry while ensuring the excellent care we are known for,” Abel said. “After an extensive deliberation of options, we have hired Via Christi Senior Services, confident that they can help us better respond to current challenges and prepare for the future.”
“We are excited that the Villa Maria board of directors and the Adorers of the Blood of Christ have chosen Via Christi Senior Services to assist in the management of Villa Maria and Maria Court,” says Jerry Carley, president and CEO of Via Christi Senior Services. “Villa Maria and Maria Court have a long-standing reputation of providing excellent care to the many residents who reside at these ministries. We are honored that we have been chosen to assist in carrying out this tradition.”
Villa Maria is a 64-bed skilled nursing facility and Maria Court is a 34-apartment assisted living community. They will continue to be sponsored by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ and maintain their commitment to the values and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church, open to provide compassionate care to the elderly without regard for gender, race, creed, color or national origin.
Via Christi Senior Villages owns or manges 25 senior communities and programs in Kansas and Oklahoma, including seven in Wichita: the Catholic Care Center, Cornerstone Broadmoor, Cornerstone Ridge Plaza, Georgetown Village, Riverside Village, Sheridan Village, Via Christi HOPE and Via Christi InMyHome. VCSS also manages the Wichita Center for the Adorers, located on the campus of Newman University.
